TRIADS AND MORE: JOSHUA REDMAN (US) PERFORMING MUSIC BY EIRIK HEGDAL (NO) WITH TRONDHEIM JAZZ ORCHESTRA
When the great American tenor player Joshua Redman for the very first time records Norwegian music with Norwegian musicians, it takes place in hot and creative interaction with the well renouned Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.
The project has it’s roots from Redman’s guest apperance on Hegdal’s commisioned piece “Space is still the place” for Molde International Jazz Festival 2006.
This collaboration was so successful, that the group reformed, and toured with and finally recorded the piece in 2008 - now under the name "Triads And More".
The music has been reviewed as “almost indecently beautiful”. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people are therefore now looking forward to the release; "Triads And More" on October 11th. 2010.DOWNLOADS:
